About book Geçmişin Gölgesinde Aşk (2014)

Barb Browning was the meanest girl in high school, and now that she's married to a local pharmacist, she's the meanest woman in town (with a lot of competition). She even tracks Teeny Templeton to a different state to tell her she's going to get her old boyfriend, Teeny's once and current love, back. But when Barb is attacked, Teeny is concerned for Barb's unhappy, unloved daughter. The character of Teeny is a bit irritating at first, but she is good-hearted, although apparently determined to get herself into trouble. The plot is a bit convoluted. Recipes included. A disappointing sequel, primarily due to very poor editing. The story was fine, and the main characters still appealing (tho this was somewhat marred by some inconsistencies in the characterizations), with a very engaging new character in Emerson, who may or may not be the daughter of Teeny's maybe-boyfriend, Coop. However, one character--and not the one who's given to malapropisms--says "paradigm" when she means "paragon", one character's surname changes spelling (from McCormack to McCormick and back again), which is still better than the character whose surname changes entirely (from Philpott to Gallagher, and then back again). Also the repeated use of "arachnoid" for "arachnid", again, not by the malaprop-spouting character, is very annoying. These are not obscure grammatical or vocabulary mistakes, and should have been caught by anyone reading it with the lowest level of attention. They certainly interfered with my ability to enjoy the book.
