Simply said: short, refreshing, relaxing. I enjoyed the element of Zachary – true to himself, full of life and living the way he wants to live; happy and proud. He´s quite like a blow of fresh air in Sahara desert, it made the story feel alive even more. The text flew like a waterfall before my eyes, it had a very quick pace. I almost didn´t even blink and there was the end.I liked the fact that even though it was almost just a sketch of a story (no extensive descriptions or more scenes of Zach and Steve together, etc.) it still somehow got it all. Most of all: I appreciated the fact the world wasn´t presented as if by someone with pink sunglasses on (or some drug in your system), but quite realistically. And yea, there was no gay-bashing mentioned but noone got anything free either. All in all I have to say it´s very nice book for a spare moment to ease your mind and have a break. Now if this book had been about the cover guy I'd be all over it!I'm a little tired of straight-arrow guys and wanted to see a flamboyant guy with some twinkle and sass. He's here and, for some reason, he's named Zach. He has the deepest yearning for Officer Hotness, that is Sergeant Stephen Miranda, who drove him home one night and left him on the doorstep.Zach spreads his glitter over the police department as he makes a visit to his crush. Golly, he must look like a fabulous flower in that den of masculine sloppiness. It appears his favorite officer thinks so, and a date is made. ... Ah yes, the date is better than the best, and both men are gob-smacked. Next day, Zach's heart would be all over his sleeve, if he wore any and love is in the air.The bad thing happens and Zach is warned off. His spirits droop and he ducks calls from his beloved Stevie. Officer Hotness tracks him down and the romance is back on!That's it. This review is almost as long as the story and not as cute as Zach by any means. I didn't hate it, but I just didn't see the point. There was my cutie getting hot and bothered. There was a hot date. There was a bit of heartbreak. They're back together. Does that sound like a story to you? If it does, I wish it had seemed like that to me. To me it seemed like a prologue to great story, maybe fleshed out with some friends and a bit of danger and more back story about Stevie and Zach. Next time I ask for sass and flamboyance, I want the full meal, not just a cheese curl.
