About book From The Wreckage (2014)

I liked this story in general. I felt that the characters and the storyline were all genuine and believable. My only problem was that it was clearly written for a teenage audience. The narrator is, in fact, supposed to be in high school. I guess that means it was quite well-written because it definitely sounded like a high schooler was telling the story. Still, for me, at age 31, I found it to be a bit annoying at times. I recommend the book for all ages but think it would speak more to high school/college aged girls. When a tornado rips through Tyler, Texas, the lives of a tight-knit group of teens are changed forever. How they deal with the aftermath is detailed in this riveting story. I was so wrapped up in the story of Jules, Katie, Tanya, West, and Stuart that when I finally read the last page, I was stunned to discover that my "just a few pages" before bed had turned into finishing the book at 3am! Michele Miller is an engaging storyteller, painting pictures with her words so well that I felt like I was there, watching the wreckage. I can't wait to read the next book in this series! Such a fantastic story!!
