About book Freeing Asia (2000)

3.50 Stars. I'm surprised. It was so slow, dark and depressing to begin with. I really didn't think I was going to like it. Then the dreaded foreshadowing of a vile love triangle appeared. I'm SUPER HAPPY TO REPORT IT ISNT A HEINOUS LOVE TRIANGLE!!! Just a story of finding one self, but having to do it through the eyes of others for a while. Its kind of a jumble of story-lines and maybe a little too perfect of an HEA, but if you can make it through the first rather boring half the second half was pretty sweet. I would recommend it. I love a kiss ass female heroin and that's exactly who Asia is. She can hang with the boys, surf & skate and she has no problems saying what's on her mind. Enter Jay & Marcus they are both wealthy and successful but that's where the similarities end. Jay was sweet, caring, attentive and he was great with Asia. And then there's Marcus, her first crush, first love, first everything. He doesn't do relationships and broke her heart all those years ago but as soon as he came into the picture I couldn't help but root for them to work it out. It was easy to spot the differences between the two relationships. With Jay it was light & cute and with Marcus there was caution and fear but only with him is she able to let go, feel free and most importantly be herself. This book did have some drama but nothing to over the top. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading Shaun's story next.
