The story is based upon an interesting premise of two people receiving large sums of money, without a return address. These two people, Ryan and Amy, are complete strangers. They are determined to find out where the money came from. They stop at nothing, not caring if lives are lost in the process. Not caring if people are hurt by their pasts. I don't believe anyone would go through the lengths they did to track the money. They go up against someone evil, who is as determined as they are. The story became like a tennis match, watching the ball go back and forth between the two players. At times, the story moved quickly but most of the time it was slow.
A slightly convoluted tale of 2 people who receive large sums of cash unexpectedly. Dr. Ryan Duffy discovers 2 million dollars in cash in his father's attic after he dies. Amy Parkins receives $200,000 cash in the mail. She traces the package back to Ryan Duffy's father. What is the connection? And how did a simple working man come to have all this money? The unraveling of the story is very complicated--the end a bit too simplistic. Although I had to find out what happened in the end, I'm not sure I'll read this author again.

If I could give this book 4.5 stars I would do it. The book started off a little slowly, but soon became one of those books that you find difficult to put down for any reason. It is a thoroughly enjoyable and spell-binding mystery / suspense novel that I would highly suggest fans of either genre reading. Put together a handsome doctor, a beautiful scientist / law student, a mysterious death, millions of dollars stashed away in the attic, add a few twists and turns and you have an enjoyable reading experience.
