Cheesy, cliché, predictable yet still entertaining and fun. Go into it without intending to be critical (I mean it, don't think too hard or use logic or any other inconvenient analysis tool) and have a great light, fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek read. Quite a bit of "He-man" tactics on display, bordering on controlling; ok, waaay past the borders of controlling. Still fine for a book if not real life. It's like one of those TV movies you really enjoy before bed but know you might have been more nit-picky about in a movie theatre after spending money on tickets, popcorn, overly dry chicken strips and fattening candy. Not sure about bothering with the sequel, I read a few pages and it seemed really repetitive, but book one is good. Dear lord this series. So by the cover it looks like just your run of the mill romance book series. Its not, it is so much more. I am now happy for the cover (i really didnt like it at first) because you go in expecting something and then *BAM* it hits you with this great story. Your on the edge of your seat. Your scared for them, you want to help. It hurts to see their pain. So much recommendation. The ONLY reason you shouldnt give this series a try is because the 4th book comes out next year. When I went to try and find it, it made me gasp out loud with a NOOOOOO when I realized I have half a year before I can finish this lovely series.
