About book Five Little Monkeys Reading In Bed (2007)
It's bedtime, and after Mama has read several books to her five offspring, she turns the lights out. But the five monkeys are intrigued by the books left on their bed, and they begin to read them. When they make too much noise, Mama must return repeatedly to settle them down. In the end, the only thing that works is removing the books. But the little ones are not the only readers in the family, and they soon hear Mama enjoying the books as well. The humor in this title is gentle, and it might be a nice pairing with Chicks Run Wild by Sudipta Bardham-Quallen. The pen and ink illustrations are soft and pay fitting tribute to the wonder of a good story. The expressions of keen interest, empathy, and amusement on the five monkey's faces show how easily good books pull in readers. I must confess that Mama and the monkeys are not the only ones who find it hard to stop reading when it's time for bed. The monkeys are back! Mama reads them a book and they want to read just one more... and one more. It's a silly book that kids and parents will love because they've been told, "Just one more book."After mama tells them it's time for lights out, they keep reading more books. And each time mama comes to their room, tells them lights out. After the monkeys turn out the light they hear a giggle and a sniff. Then they catch mama reading in bed.

Fun book to read to my kids, especially since Amy and I both read in bed like the mother monkey.
