For me, this was a book that left me with a feeling of love and loss. I felt inspired by the passionate story of the pyrotechnic italian man and the poor little rich girl leading a fairy tale life. The genre isn't something I typically read. However, the author's writing was beautiful. I've read alot of books lately that are a complex story, with simple writing. I'm left entertained, but not moved. This book was a simple story, but complex writing. It invoked emotions and left me feeling like I lived a life through the book. I would recommend this book purely for its beautiful writing. I know many of you just LOVED this book, but I didn’t. I started reading it thinking I was going to love it. What’s not to love after reading the blurb? But for me, it just never took off. In fact, I picked it up 4 times before finally, grudgingly, I decided to just put it down. Yes…me, the one who always has to finish every book she starts no matter what, DNF this one. I’m kind of sad I didn’t like the book more, but also proud of myself for finally being able to stop reading a book I just didn’t like.First of all, in the beginning the characters were so worried about their own likes, wants, etc. that they didn’t seem to really care about each other. And once the story starts focusing on Lily and Jake, you’d think it would start getting more interesting. But it doesn’t. It also goes into great detail about their love affair and it’s just a bit much for my liking.I’m really sorry I didn’t enjoy this book, it’s been on my bookshelf for a long time and I was really looking forward to it. Makes me a little sad.
Do You like book Fireworks Over Toccoa (2010)?
Sort of a typical romance that is destined to fail. Depressing but entertaining for the most part.
