I'm mixed about this novel. it was gripping, didn't want to put it down but that could have been because Iwas trying to figure out what was going on. I would have liked the characters if they would have been flawed some how. they had experiences doing things that I really doubt that even super smart, super rich kids would be able to do at age 17. besides drive a car. a helicopter? sure! car-ehhhh maybe not. I had a hard time keeping up with what was really going on it was fast pace in places but then the author slows down to tell a bit of really useless information. poor editing maybe. I was hooked, I read it pretty quickly but by the end I was truly lost at what was going on. aliens I think. but you'll have to read to see for yourself. because I don't know. i liked the historical/archeological stuff, Daniel was okay when he wasn't deus ex machinaing his way out of stuff. 3 stars. I have mixed feelings about this book.I think when an author writes a book, that every word should be important. This book had a lot of words that could have been left out.I think that the author would benefit from a good editor.Or it could simply be that his writing style doesn't agree with my reading style. It starts out slowly, very slowly, but eventually draws you in to an impressive story. It's got the same feel as The DaVinci Code, but the artifacts and their hidden meanings are much more ancient.I will say that I found the ending disappointing, and there were some loose ends -- clues early in the book without resolution or explanation. But overall, it was a good book and a good read.
Do You like book Fire Seekers, The (2014)?
Decent plot and writing, but a bit too much teenage angst for me.

Archeology meets science fiction. It would make a good movie.
