New England town where magical secrets and crazy yarnaholics abound. Chloe Hobbs, pregnant and the owner of Sticks and Strings Yarn Store, manages to keep Sugar Maple’s secrets from being discovered by others. Luke and Chloe have a beautiful baby girl named Laria, who becomes very ill. No magic can help her; will Luke and Chloe lose the most powerful and precious member of Sugar Maple?Spells and Stitches is the fourth book in the Sugar Maple series by Barbara Bretton, an ongoing mystery series with a paranormal twist. In order to fully appreciate and understand the dynamics of this town, this is a series which should be read in order. It’s a wonderfully quirky town with creative and magical residents.Chloe is sweet, quirky, and in love with yarn. I like this series because it reminds me a lot of where I live, and I am a yarnaholic myself, so I completely understand Chloe’s love of yarn. I also appreciate the little cute things inside the book, like recipes and knitting facts. Whenever I pick up a book by Ms. Bretton, I smile. There is a lot of love, a mystery I won’t soon forget, and more love that just pours off the pages. Adding Laria, the powerful little girl Luke and Chloe make, is just the icing on a cake I just can’t get enough of. I believe this is a book for anyone who loves anything paranormal, a little mystery, and yarn.
