About book Fifteen Shades Of Gay (For Pay) (2012)

My only issue with this book was that it could have been longer! I really enjoyed this story, I just felt like it was a little rushed. Marie was a great companion to Andrew, and I feel like I can see myself from her perspective (except I don't have cancer, but I have a gay brother who was hesitant to come out also). Their conversation reminded me exactly of how I feel: "I don't get it. Why we bother limiting ourselves at all." Then Marie replied, "Me neither. When I put 'kiss a girl' on my bucket list, I lied. I meant 'go down on Charlize Theron." I have always had a girl crush on Kate Beckensale, so I could totally relate on this quote! Then when Cormac and Andrew talked later about being bisexual saying, "Think about the whole 'born this way' meme. It's a way to get straight people to let up, because most people are basically fair, even when religion tells them not to be. But if human beings can be truly bisexual, as happy with the opposite sex as they are with the same, then the religious rules still apply, meaning folks like me just need to try harder. Take what society offers and be happy.... If sexuality is a spectrum, I must not be 100% gay, because I was a little attracted to Natalie.... But again, if people like us are reclassified as bisexual, the argument could be, we should get in touch with our female loving sides amd give up our sinful gay practices." I agreed with Andrew's reply, "I don't think bi means any woman is as good to me as any man. It just means initial openness. If I wanted you there isn't a woman in the world who could take your place." I believe that even though not everyone may be willing to admit it, there is no black and white in sexuality. I believe it's all blended because I've been attracted to and had crushes on both sexes. I don't believe in lables pertaining to sexual orientation. I believe love is love. You are attracted to whoever your body is attracted to. I enjoyed that the most about this book, that Andrew went through this life changing experience to discover something he was too afraid to admit at first. I highly recommend this book. Of course I loved this book. Is it possible not to? I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I love happy endings, they are the everything of any story. Even the weak ones can redeem themselves with a happy ending. So I was glad this ended in a very realistic and happy way. Because at some point everything goes to hell and you realized that you didn't expected to find yourself hit the fang so hard and so fast. Even when the premise is so loaded with angst, the writing and the characters don't let you dwell on the drama too much. I loved that, too. I love Cormac and Andrew, they have a very special relationship, they're honest with each other since the beginning, so they become instantly soulmates. But I do really think that Marie was Andrew's first soulmate (without the sex, ew) . They were best friends, understand each other perfectly and never judge each other. She was an awesome strong woman that I hope I found more often in this kind of books, with so many bitchy walking stereotypes. (•ิ_•ิ)So, this is highly recommended read for everyone, even the ones that are scared easily by too much angst, like myself. Seriously, read it! Is awesome!
