Reading R.L. Stine's books you will know that the killer is either not the person who you think it is or the main character is just nuts which is the case with this novel. I was surprised at the end at first but upon rereading it all makes sense, like why the nosy girls across the hall are always staring at Hope and her friends strangely and even a couple of times called one of Hope's friends "Hope", why Jasmine couldn't recall a whole day resulting in her losing her job, why Hope was enrolled in Eden's history class, etc. This book was okay and brought back a lot of memories to my high school days when I used to love these Fear Street books. The conclusion is a bit of a disappointment I'm really sad to say.
I've been having so much fun reading my old "horror" series, and this is unfortunately the last Fear Street book my library has. What happened to all of them!? I wasn't ready to stop taking this trip down memory lane yet, dang it!I've only read this book once, but I remembered the big twist at the end. It made it a lot more fun to read this time around since I was looking for the clues to support that ending. I don't remember the second book at all, which sucks since my library doesn't have it. I might not have actually ever read it, so I don't know how this ultimately ends.This was an even quicker read than usual for these books, but because of that twist I have to give it 3 stars.
I learn that you should never protect someone when they kill someone because it will lead to more people dead. In the book The Beginning by R.L.Stine, Hope protects Darryl and don't tell anyone that he killed someone. He killed someone because he thought Hope was with that person which isn't correct. And later he kills more people, and Hope decides to tell the police of what Darryl did. All Hope's roommates know that Darryl killed someone, but they know Hope won't let them tell anyone, so they keep it a secret too.

When I first read this, totally didn't get the references that hinted that Hope had a multiple personality disorder. But reading it again, I can't believe how obvious it was. Pretty good story.
