While I finished the book and was sufficiently surprised with the killers reveal, I don't think I will read the next in the series. The main character, Becca, was extremely wooden. She was too perfect, I think. I can't really put my finger on why I disliked her so much. She is supposedly very close to Abner, yet you don't get the impression that she is very upset by the possibility of him being the killer. Yes, she seeks out the true killer, but it was more for the farmer's market's reputation. This series started out great b/c the protagonist (Becca) was self-aware of making some foolish decisions that got her into some scrapes. However, as the series progressed, it became rather annoying that she would make backhanded comments to the audience about making these decisions purposefully even though it put her life in danger. It also got rather annoying when her cop friend, Sam, would continue to give her more information than a civilian would know and also accepted that she was going to put herself in danger repeatedly. I made it to the (current) end of the series, but by then I was only interested in how her romantic entanglements would be resolved.
Do You like book Farm Fresh Murder (2010)?
I needed an easy read after finishing the Hunger Games book. This was perfect!
