While i didnt detest this book i definitely did not enjoy it very much.Heroine: she was bland and boring and frankly i found nothing appealing about her. She never stood up for herself and she waffled on everything. I literally couldnt find anything to like about her.Hero: only slightly better. He was impulsive to the point of being childish but god forbid anyone comment on that or we'll see his emotional control issues. he could be sweet but he could also be obnoxious.Romance/Plot: Totally didnt buy this friends into lovers story. We drop into the middle of their friendship without seeing how they even became friends. This might have been ok if i felt like they were really close but it honestly felt like they were kind of estranged until the fake fiance thing. then the whole rest of the book was just them side stepping around their feelings. It was mildly amusing for a couple of chapters (and i stress mildly) but it got old really fast. Too bad that was the WHOLE. DAMN. BOOK. So yeah...since i didnt buy the romance and the plot was pretty blah it wasn't a great reading experience. I hoped for some sort of big finish but..i was disappointed in that too.THERE WEREN'T EVEN ANY SEX SCENES!!!!Writing: bleh. overall not horrible but there were were definitely bad parts like when the hero was saying his father died and left his family a house but his father was definitely still alive. My eye definitely twitched at an incorrect usage of to/two/too. Bottom line: apparently im in a minority but i didnt really think there was anything in here that made it worth the read. it wasnt really a bad book...it just wasnt a good one 3.5 Dawwwww stars! This is a good weekend read when you're looking for pure entertainment and HEA. Nothing very deep, interesting and engaging characters, lots of personality and cute story line. Dani and Wes have been best friends since they met freshman year in college. No one has really understood their relationship has always been strictly BFFs. Dani overthinks everything, has lots of responsibilities and not a lot of fun. She is helping to support her family financially and doesn't have room to mess up. She really, really needs that promotion that she always seems to be given to the "family man." Wes is an adrenaline junkie with a loving and supportive family; he's always paid his own way, but he's had room to wiggle and always known that his family is there if he needs them. One night they're talking over their latest individual problem and come up with the same solution. They both need a fiancee! Hey, they can be each other's fiancee!! After all, they know each other better than anyone else so obviously they can pull it off. Right? Rriiight........ And that's when the fun begins. Things aren't always as easy as they seem. In fact, they almost never are. This is the first book in a series. It's a stand alone that's quick and fun.
