The first story in this takes place in Medival England it follows Miles and Shelby who are looking for Luce to bring her to Daniel. While there they meet up with Medival Luce who has at this point met Daniel and lost him as she is not the proper lady he could marry but a farmer's daughter. With the promise of finding Daniel and bringing him to Valentine's Day faire they leave Luce and decide to buy things for Luce and Daniel to help them reconnect with each other. In the midst of this Shelby and Miles find they are falling in love with each other and buy one another a Valentine's Day token for Shelby it's gloves and for Miles it's his missing Dodgers cap he losses in the beginning of the book. There they share a special kiss that shows they are on their way towards love. The next story is about Roland who is parading around England as a knight. There Roland encounters the girl he loved Rosaline and how he left her when he realized that their love wouldn't work. I really enjoyed Roland's story about how he loved this girl with his whole being but even that wasn't enough in the end when Cam points out what Roland knows that this love isn't meant to be as Roland is an Angel and Roseline is a girl a human girl and their relationship won't work. He goes to see Rosaline to see what has become of her to find she is married and expecting and Roland does the only thing he can insure that her husband stays home instead of heading off to war.The third story is of Arianne still taking place in England in Medival times. Arianna is spending her time milking a cow for a family and spending what time she can with her love Tess. When Arianna finds out that Lucifer wants Tess back Tess asks Arianne to make a huge sacrifice to give up heaven for hell one decision Arianne can't make. No matter what the stakes Arianne can't give up Heaven even if she is a fallen angel. Tess gets enraged by this and does everything she can to convince Arianne that they can be free to be together in Hell. The Last story is about Luce and Daniel their story takes place in Medival England on St. Valentine's Day. It takes place during the Valentine's faire and Luce is searching all over for Daniel, even stumbling across Cam at a dance when finally Daniel appears and the two rush off to a secluded area to have their first Valentine's Day together.I really enjoyed reading the various stories to see some of the history between the Angel's and the ones that they loved. It was refreshing not just be focused on Daniel and Luce! I read this book out of order in the “Fallen” series. It is meant to be the fourth book, in between Passion and Rapture. If you haven’t read the preceding Fallen books, you should read them before reading this.Fallen in Love is a collection of four short stories, centered around Valentine’s Day, about the characters from the Fallen novels. They are all in Medieval England, during the time when Luce is going through time in the announcers and everyone else is following her. The first story is about Shelby and Miles, and is called “Love Where You Least Expect It: The Valentine of Shelby and Miles”. It starts as they step out of an announcer into Medieval England while trying to find their way back home. They come across the past version of Luce as well as the present Roland. It’s hard to say more than that without spoilers, unfortunately. I will say that I liked this story. I thought it was sweet and well written. It was actually my favorite out of all of them. The second story is about Roland, and is called, “Love Lessons: The Valentine of Roland”. It tells the reader about Roland’s lost love that he left behind. I thought it was well written as well, but it was a little sad. Despite that, I still thought it was a good story and it gave Roland’s character more depth. The third story is about Arriane, and is called, “Burning Love: The Ballad of Arriane. This one was really interesting because it explains how Arriane got the burn scars on her neck. I thought it was a great story and I was really invested, but I was let down by the ending. Just like Roland’s story though, this story gives more depth to Arriane’s character and explains her and her motives a little more. The fourth story is about Luce and Daniel, and is called, Endless Love: The Valentine of Daniel and Lucenda. This story is pretty typical of the the past relationship glimpses you see in Passion. This story is important because, as Bill tells Luce, this is the only Valentine’s Day Luce and Daniel ever spent together. The Lucenda of this time period is a poor commoner and Daniel is a knight. Lucenda believes she and Daniel can’t be together because of the differences of their class status. Nevertheless, Lucenda hopes he will show up to see her at the Valentine’s Day event outside of the castle. This story was my second favorite. It was a little suspenseful and it was sweet. All in all, they were all good stories, I just found a few of them kind of depressing, and therefore, not my kind of stories. I like happy endings, I can’t help it. They were all well written and I felt invested in all of them. I think if you are a fan of the series, you should read this. If you’re reading the series, but not in love with it, you can skip this and still be able to follow what’s going on in Rapture. I have to say though, it did satisfy my curiosity about Arriane’s scars. 3.5
Do You like book Fallen In Love (2012)?
Anything that Lauren Kate writes is very polarizing, you'll either love it or hate it. I loved the first two novels in this Fallen series but then the wheels started to fall off the cart for me. Admittedly I'm reading this novella a year after finishing the Fallen series I did not feel for the stories of Luce/Daniel and Shelby/Miles for me they were slow and so predictable. I did however enjoy Rolland's story. If you loved Fallen you'll enjoy this book but like many people, if you didn't not love the series, this will be a waste of time

It was a nice little story. You learn about Roland and Arriane and their past love lives. I do have to say, Arriane's story was more touching than Roland's and I want to know what happened to Tess. I did not see what happened with Miles and Shelby coming, though I like it. It's fitting. I really wish the story would have gone back to Luce's first life, since that didn't get covered in book 3. I'm hoping it does in book 4 or I'm going to be disappointed. The sneak peek to book 4 was awesome!
