I really wanted to love this book. The cover art is fabulous and the synopsis showcased the type of book I love to read. The writing is pretty good as is the plot. However, the main issue with the book and the reason I could not give it a higher rating is because of the underdeveloped characters. The author does not go beyond showing us that the bad boy is slightly troubled and our heroine works to much from insecurity. This lack of development leaves you yearning to get to know them better. It's easy to understand why Anna is drawn to Jake. He's hot, a bad boy and not her typical type of man. Yes, it is a whirlwind romance - the whole wedding weekend getaway. As a reader, I want to better understand what makes our bad boy so bad...besides his hot temper. The relationship between Jake and his family feels incomplete, but maybe that was better explored in the first novel of the series (which I have not read). The strongest part of the book is at the very end where Anna's "true grit" is exposed. She finally is willing to fight for herself. I wish we could have seen more of this internal struggle throughout the book.I struggled to finish reading this book. The author holds promise in her writing style; I kept reading even though I wasn't enthralled with the story. Thus, I give it 3 stars. I love the idea of a fake boyfriend for Anna to take to her friend’s wedding. Anna is the one who’s supposed to be convincing Jake, who is a HOT sexy biker, but it kind of sounds like Jake is the one doing all of the convincing and thoroughly enjoying showing Anna how much fun and satisfying it would be for both of them if he was her date. Especially since her ex, who dumped her will be there and of course now he wants her back. Not if Jake has anything to say about it. This was a fun and easy read. I was not aware this was actually book 2 of a “Rule Breakers series”. Can’t wait to read the next “Want It” and while I’m waiting, “Rock It” book 1 here I come.I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
