Creepy sci-fi yarn. The creepiness comes out from how plausible this story becomes when the weight of disbelief about black-crystal-pyramids-sprouting-from-the-ground is finally overcome. I didn't really enjoy this book the first time I went through it; I read it and dismissed it completely. But on a secondary read, it managed to spin its magic at last... it had me engrossed from page one to page last. Definetively a HARD book to tackle if you're expecting an easy read. Don't commit the same mistakes I did... take it slowly and let it do its work.
