The Simplest Things are Often the Most Fun!" This book has no deeper purpose, nothing beyond the now....except....Except that every single page took me back to my childhood. I have no idea what the words might have been on the pages, I only saw the drawings. Each one illustrating a life lesson. Each one so familiar that I could name almost every book without looking at the title listed at the bottom of the page.I was lucky enough to have the Little Golden Books as a set of 45s. Each book was read aloud, and every story had a song. The song for the "Pokey Little Puppy" will now play in my head for the next few days, and I will think back to long afternoons in my room, turning the pages as each beep sounded, safe and secure with the knowledge that all was right in my world.
