About book Everyone Loves You When You're Dead: Journeys Into Fame And Madness (2011)

Some favorites: Chuck Berry (simultaneously gleeful and bitter), Trent Reznor (sad as you want him to be), Jack White (surprisingly kind of a prick), Russell Brand (a new favorite), Eddie Money (who will apparently overlook anything if the pulled pork is good enough), Pharrell (who is even worse about the phone than i am), Britney Spears (who surprisingly comes off kinda dumb), and of course Dave Pirner, whose interview might be the weirdest in this book. This is one of the most entertaining books I've ever read. Proof that a good journalist can make any subject interesting. I found myself racing through interviews with people I otherwise could care less about, or actively dislike (The Strokes, Russell Brand, Kenny G!!). This is an incredible collection of interviews. Where else are you going to find interviews with Cher, Zac Efron and Britney Spears and just a few pages later Henry Grimes, Charles Gayle and Raymond Scott? Thank you Neil Stauss, this book is awesome.

This book is a monster at 500+ pages. I'll have to come back to it. An interesting read, though.

Strauss is just such a great interviewer! And the stories are interwoven in a lovely way.

I'm not really in to interviews or famous people, but I found this book very engaging.
