I got this book for my 5th grader and Wendy was kind enough to sign it for her after a class I took from her in New Jersey a few years back. It took a few chapters to get used to changing from three different point of views in the lives of these three kids, but I really enjoyed both the adventure of following these kids lives that all intersect at this campground, but also the science and astrology that is presented throughout the book. My daughter is re-reading it now, it's defiantly worth a re-read, and now my 4th grader is waiting for his turn to read it. The book, Every Soul a Star, is probably one of the best books I have ever read. This book is about three teenagers, Ally, Bree, and Jack, who all end up meeting each other at a camp site, where Ally lives, called Moon Shadows. They all end up working together on many projects, like discovering a planet and getting prepared for the eclipse with Ally and Bree's siblings, also including Ally's old friend Ryan. They create a strong bond over their two weeks together, even though they all have very different personalities. I really enjoyed this book because I feel like it connects to young teenagers, like myself, and always keeps you entertained. Something I really loved about this book is that it was told from Ally, Bree, and Jack's point of view. So you got to see how each character felt about each other and how things happen from their side of the story. In my opinion, someone who is 12 to 15 would really enjoy this book. The kids in the story's ages are about 14 so I feel like it would connect more to people reading who are the same age as the characters. Also, the different types of relationships they go through are more aimed towards younger teenagers. This was one of the best books I've ever read and I feel like it will be the same for you too!
