This was a great story and I enjoyed it very much. I was hooked from the very beginning because it sounded like the author was talking directly to me! He is telling me the story about a newspaper guy whose life is completely falling apart. There are twists that I never expected, causing me to read way later in the night than I should. Then me taking my book to work so I could read during my lunch hour. I think the moral of the story is that life is hard. Being a Christian doesn't suddenly make your whole life peaches and cream, but being a Christian, we are allowed grace. Every Bush is Burning is one of the best Christian novels I've ever read. Jack Bennett, the main character, is telling a story that needs to be told -- about the hypocrisy that is religion -- about the truth that is the Gospel. At times the tone is mocking, funny, and perhaps obtuse -- but the story is real, believable, and heart wrenching. I laughed and I cried -- and I shared in the experiences of so many characters. This is a great book -- well worth your time.
