Une petite virée dans l'univers SF que j'aurais sans doute davantage appréciée si je connaissais davantage que deux titres parmi la myriade référencée (Lord of the Rings et Narnia). Si ce livre est une chose, c'est bien une leçon d'humilité, une introduction foisonnante à un monde avec autant de facettes que de connexions au nôtre. Autre chose, c'est un peu long et monotone pour un journal intime du Fan Enthousiaste de SF, même élargi un éloge du pouvoir des livres et des bibliotheques, dans l'évasion ou l'inspiration. Heureusement, Jo Walton donne une voix éminemment personnelle à sa protagoniste, et développe peu à peu une théorie particulière de la magie en tant que système de connexions et de cohérences, en un sens presque poétique, qui est une belle vision. Morwenna Phelps Markova is not the average15- year old obsessed with boys and clothes and whatever it is most of her like would bother with. No, she loves and breathes books, for they offer her a respite from the evil that the world heaps on her kind. Her magic is in her books even as she tries to suppress the magic she seems to have been born with. A wonderful and delightful read, full of references to books which will keep anyone's to-read list full for the coming new year. Love it!
Do You like book Entre Extraños (2011)?
I'm rounding up but this was more of a 3-1/2 stars for me, mainly because the ending was so abrupt.
