Fascinating tidbits add up to a pointillist portrait of Saint-Exupery's life. I found the tiny type and the pale illustrations difficult to read/view, and I wanted more of a thread tying the tidbits together. Also, given the title, I expected a more pointed exploration of S-E's book The Little Prince; instead, a few possible seminal incidents in the author's life are scattered among other anecdotes, and the book itself is mentioned only briefly. For folks who have read The Little Prince and take time to wonder which ingredients in S-E's life led to its writing, this small biography could provide interesting grist for discussion, but unless approached almost as a puzzle poem, I suspect most readers won't connect those dots. Nonetheless, this was a intriguing scattershot view into the author/aviator's life and amazingly diverse pursuits. Another enchanting illustrated story by Peter Sis. This time the story is of the life of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the author of The Little Prince and other books. The illustrations are so imaginative and moving. It is nice to get a simple history of the author's life and to see how it might have related to his story of The Little Prince. The page of war is in stark contrast to all the others, some of which can only be described as magical.
