About book El Libro Oficial De Juego De Tronos (2012)
This is an incredibly intriguing look inside the making of Seasons 1 & 2 of Game of Thrones. A foreword from the genius George R. R. Martin on how the TV series came to be, followed by some q&a with the Producers, DB (Dan) Weiss and David Benioff. DB and David offer insight about the ridiculously talented cast & crew that helped orchestrate the series. Directors (film, VFX, photography, art, etc) Costumers & decorators, producers, and others all discuss their work and the generals of each piece and how it evolved into the masterpiece we know it to be. Overviews of characters and their houses and brief interviews with the main 30 or so actors that portray the main characters are also enchanting. Overall it adds to the world that Martin created and is a worthwhile read for dedicated fans who yearn for more. HBO's adaptation of George R.R.Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" series is, and I write this with no exaggeration whatsoever, a triumph, a feast for the eyes, a marvel in television production. The acting is first-rate as is the writing, set design and cinematography. It wasn't too long ago, it was whispered about the film community that there was NO WAY Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings" masterpiece could be made into a live-action film. It was too long, there were too many various locations, the extras needed would border on astronomical. However, Peter Jackson not only accomplished the unimaginable, he did it INCREDIBLY well. The same absolutely must be said for "Game of Thrones" (HBO's working title for the series). The storyline becomes more intriguing, more brutal, more emotional as the series progresses. If you do not have HBO, read the books. Now. If you absolutely must see the series, it is available on iTunes. This story should NOT be missed.

It's an enjoyable browsing book, but reading actors praise other actors for being so brilliant does get a little stale after a while. I mean, we all know that until their characters all die, they've got to work together, so nobody with a decent amount of sense would spend their paragraphs gossiping about how awful so-and-so was the work with. On the other hand, they can be funny, and the photo spreads are nice (hellooooo, Harry Lloyd.....). A worthwhile item to check out of the library.
