This story was released just when I was jonesing for a new Percy Jackson fix. Rick has tantalised us with the possibility of a PJO/Kane crossover by making it clear that the two stories exist in the same world. Ever since I read Uncle Amos talk about the 'other' gods that live in Manhattan I've been wanting a crossover.I was not disappointed. Not at all.Watching Percy and Carter clash was interesting and intriguing and set up the possibility of a new villain who would want to pit Greece and Egypt against one another. If the Greeks and Romans have a beef, imagine the Egypt/Greece problems - (Alexander, than Octavian conquering Egypt).Soooo many delicious possibilities. A must read for anyone who loves PJO or Kane Chronicles, and a reason to read both series if you haven't already. So short! But also so fun! I listened to the audiobook that I was able to find on YouTube. This is all when I should have been doing my Communications homework. After finishing The Blood of Olympus, I have been rather sad, missing Percy. So I am reading Percy Jackson's Greek Gods and stumbled across this. The whole thing is 58 minutes long and is narrated by Riordan, which was cool.Carter is in Long Island looking for a swamp monster, which turns out to be a giant crocodile. He gets eaten and is rescued by Percy. I loved Carter's reaction to being called a "half-blood." Basically, they get into a fight and it is a lot of fun to see their powers going against each other. And Carter admits that Percy is a bad ass with a sword. The conversation they have after was awesome and funny, a great throwback to the PJO and Kane series. I loved it when they fought together against the crocodile!! So now they want to figure out who enchanted the crocodile with the purpose of getting them together. Both have accepted a wary truce with the other. But I wonder....if Annabeth and Sadie were the ones pitted against each other, they probably would have figured everything out much faster, lol.
Do You like book El Hijo De Sobek (2013)?
I rate books 5 stars a LOT because I find it easy to get into good books, and really enjoy them (I realised this when I saw my average rating was 4.97). This is a crossover story (Percy Jackson series and the Kane Chronicles) by Rick Riordan I read last year, and is only 40 pages. It is a short story of suspense and mystery, and even though I haven't read either of the series' I thoroughly enjoyed this short read.
