Interesting book very much in the style of Mark Kurlansky, except this author seemed to get drunk and pass out random places a lot more.I was disappointed by the lack of information about eels in the Basque region. That was all footnoted rather than expressly covered. The parts about the Maori and Micronesia were very interesting and well written.My biggest complaint was that the asterisks for footnotes were smaller than the serifs on the font so often I lost them. "Eels: An Exploration, from New Zealand to the Sargasso, of the World's Most Mysterious Fish" is a great non-fiction book about one of the most fascinating fish in the world. This book takes you around the world researching eels, their effects on culture, environment, and economy. "Eels: An Exploration, from New Zealand to the Sargasso, of the World's Most Mysterious Fish" is a great book for someone being educated about how nature can effect everything around them.
