My thoughts of this Guildwars novel..... fantastic :D really does set the scene well, bridging the world I know from the game to the time frame of what is in Guildwars 2. Characters were great, detail was great, interplay of the party nice. What is more I was wanting to know more and more of "what happens next" as I read, and in the end I was still wanting to know.... The start of the book really builds up the premise of team working and the fact that things may go down hill rapidly. Then progresses into the "epic quest" situation and the feeling of the unlikely hero being cast into something he didn't really want to be in. Interplay of characters was great especially with the unlikely team that just has to get on for the goal to be achieved. Ending with a lovely twist that just wanted me to see what happened next.... Being an avid Guild Wars gamer for nearly five years, I found the book to be enjoyable and fast paced. I am typically not a fast reader but I read this book relatively fast for me. The characters are interesting and each had their own story. Through all the ups and downs of the book you find yourself more often sad in a sense than happy but overall the book has an "ok" mood tone. The book takes you through various places and if you are a Guild Wars 2 gamer then you will find many of these places familiar. I gave the book a 5 star because I thought it was a good book and I found no grammatical errors (although I am no master myself) and I thought it was well written and interesting.
Surprisingly well written for a book based on a game, those are usually total crap.
