Way better and far less cheesy than I thought it would be.The romance between the main character and her dream-boyfriend was unrealistic—but that made the comparison of her (no longer platonic) love for her best friend Will so much more real.The characterization was good, the premise interesting, and the writing was well-done and edited.But most of all, I gave this book the rare five-star review because the author didn't give the story an ending where the file ends up with her "dream boyfriend". I really loved how she ended being with Will in the end. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I'll admit, true cover love was the first thing that made me want to read this story. I mean the cover is capital G gorgeous. That being said, I was more than a little disappointed by the book itself.Apart from the cover love, I thought the premise sounded interesting and original, and I was excited to pick this book up. Unfortunately, this book relied a little too strongly upon what seems to be the now classic YA equation:Female narrator + Super Hot Paranormal Character + High school + Love Triangle = Overdone I could have possibly looked past that, maybe, if the story focused more on the Dream aspect, which had the potential to be cool, instead of spending so much of the story on "Crazy Annabelle." When the book finally started picking up and moving away from the high school drama and into the purpose of the story, it felt forced to me. I never believed the characters were in any danger, and I saw the big twist (and most of the small ones) coming from miles away. That isn't to say there wasn't anything good about the book, however the explanation of the Dream aspect was too weak and underdeveloped for me, while the high school setting felt more prominent than it should have been. Those who aren't tired of the new YA equation will probably enjoy this book, but I wouldn't recommend it to those who want to read about something more.
