About book Dracula The Un-Dead (2009)

Just goes to show that just because you are a relative of Bram Stoker's, a "Dracula documentarian" and have a Dracula scholar in your corner, it doesn't mean you can write worth a darn. A few good concepts, but as formulaic as any of the bad vampire novels and incredibly "clunky". For example, the word "to rush" is used far too often. People (and vampires) are rushing all over the place. And written in an irritatingly breathless style with short sentences meant to convey urgency but instead convey a lack of control of the subject. A disappointment, but not unexpected, which I why I did not seek this book out new, and only picked it up when I saw it at a second hand store. Glad I didn't waste more money on it. The WORST book I have ever actually finished reading. Shameless exploitation of a shared name and vague family connection to sell a revisionist "sequel" to Bram Stoker's masterpiece. Turns out the Count was a scapegoat for ANOTHER vampire, the guys who killed him (well, they thought they did) were all losers - and eventually got what they deserved - and Mina's his One True Love. How bad is it? [spoiler alert, but really, you're wasting time reading it)... Drac & Mina sail off into the sunset, so to speak, aboard RMS Titanic...
