I picked this book up on a whim, curious about the title. It started off feeling a bit like chick lit schlock. But then they start introducing the goddess, then the dogs start talking, then the hot god shows up in one of the key women's bedroom. And the book quickly transforms into part goofy supernatural plot to take over the world, part unapologetic bodice-ripping romance, part adorable dog-lovers story, and much more fun than expected. Surprisingly enjoyable. I wish I had the goddess powers of understanding my dogs' talk!!! Picked entirely at random out of the selection of available Crusie audio because I needed some soothing book white noise. I was like, "I bet this is a nice modern romance," innocently oblivious of the jacket summary. And it turns out? Actually this is three modern romances, punctuated with a cheerfully batshit plot featuring talking dogs and a lot of unintentionally hilarious sex in which, e.g., a woman yells "I am a goddess!" while coming. To be fair, she was an actual goddess. Didn't make it less funny.Got the job done though.
Do You like book Dogs And Goddesses (2009)?
Kept me entertained until the end, but nothing special. I prefer Crusie when she writes alone.
