About book Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?: Confessions Of A Gay Dad (2012)
Hilarious collection of parenting essays. I am neither a man, nor gay but I found myself completely relating to the brutally honest look at parenting perfectionism inside a "neurotic" parent's psyche. What parent isn't at least a little neurotic? It was full of humor, love, petty worries and jealousies. Besides getting a good laugh each day I listened (I highly recommend listening as it is read by the author), I went away feeling determined to be the best parent possible for my children. You may not recognize this author by name, but he is a multi-talented actor/producer/writer. He also lives in Los Angeles with his husband and two adopted children. This book is a witty and funny account of his journey from early relationships through the process of adoption and raising of two young children by two dads. Often laugh out loud hilarious, there are heartfelt moments, particularly when talking of his parents. I enjoyed and recommend it.
