About book Do Cool Sh*t: Quit Your Day Job, Start Your Own Business, And Live Happily Ever After (2013)

I really liked this book! I think the description about her is true--she is a serial entrepreneur and it is a bit overwhelming hearing about everything she takes on and tackles in such a small amount of time. However, I think it's very motivating and the point of the book, in my opinion, is to believe in yourself and seize the moment. She gives plenty of examples of that and how she accomplished each thing she wanted to do. All of her adventures/businesses are instances of her seizing the moment and empowering herself and others. Overall, very motivating and inspiring read. Will I go out and try to start tons of businesses, probably not. But I will take some of her other advice on life, building meaningful relationships, and not being afraid to go for what I want. While parts of the book do come across as from a place of privilege and self promotion. I think that there is some great advice to be found her about figuring out what you want and going for it. This isn't, strictly speaking a 'how-to' guide but rather an autobiography with what worked for the author. Agrawal has a great look at the world and about following your passions, but also has some great practical tips. I personally really loved the section about fitness that she posts about. She's upfront about what failures she fell into, and what things worked out because of luck on her part. She's a firm believer in chasing after your dreams and after I finished the book, I was excited to get started on my own ideas!
