About book Dirty Little Angels (2009)

I loved this book; I feel that it takes stories like this to open the public's eyes on how some people live in the USA. We get so wrapped up in our own little world and don't realize how good we have it. It is a significant story, I gave it to my daughter to read (she is 26)...I want her to experience it. After she read it she wanted to know if he had written another book about the characters. The story is told from the point of view of a young girl in New Orleans. The author gives such vivid detail that you feel that you are reading her diary. Chris is a brilliant writer I can't wait for his next novel. The only part I didn't like was the dog fights. I know this happens in real life and I hate it. I am a dog lover so I wasn't able to read this part…it was too graphic…I can't stand to hear about animals being mistreated. This book is a must to read…I don’t think you will regret it. A story about the family life of a 16 year old girl. What she goes through with a mother who is so distraught over a miscarriage that she seems to forget she has a family. A unemployed father who appears to find solace with a stripper/waitress and booze. A brother who is like her best friend but dances pretty well on the bad side until it catches up with both of them. After a botched suicide and a murder, the girl realizes that sometimes you have to stop praying and help yourself. Not a bad story. One of those stories that doesn't really start or end. Like just getting a glimpse into someones life and wondering what happens next.

Do You like book Dirty Little Angels (2009)?

Raw & gritty. My only complaint is, the book wasn't long enough. I wanted more.
