Beautifully written, poetic and rather ethereal, sometimes frustrating to know what's going on, but a spellbinding tale of love and family. This book was sheer agony for me. Agony.Feels like a workshop essay that got stretched to its limits (note to self: delete Goodreads reviews when you become a writer he he) and then some. You can hear that 'lyrical' style, that Afropolitan whatnot, that foisting race at this or that juncture.But:While I feel nothing for sex scenes (Shades of Grey was torture), I found the sex very beautiful. That, my friends, is Thirst :DThe big revelation alluded to throughout the book confounded me. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing so I'll decide it's good. Because, you know, 2 stars.Went on too long, came to it with too many expectations I guess.
