About book Die Widerspenstige Braut (2013)

Sweet, Shocking, and Intense. A real rollercoaster!"When a man is nineteen years of age, getting roaring drunk is fun, audacious, and rebellious. One needs to be good and foxed to join an orgy without in inhibition. About five years ago I decided that I would never get that foxed again. At which point orgies became peculiar, not amusing." Best line of the whole book!!! LOL I can't wait to read Dangerous in Diamonds, which will focus on the most interesting character, Castelford. This is book #2 in the Rarest Blooms series and I have to admit that I liked Book #1 much better. But this book wasn't awful. There were times where Madeline Hunter rambled on and on and I found myself bored. I hate it when an author beats a saying or feeling over the reader's head by incessant repetition. Its awful. But I digress. Let me tell you about the main characters... Enter Hawkeswell. He's an earl who married a woman by the name of Verity Thompson (ugly name if you ask me...) but she *vanishes* the day of the wedding, thus never allowing him to consummate the marriage. Fast forward to two years and Hawkeswell is shocked to discover his *disappearing* bride at The Rarest Blooms, where she has taken up residence in order to escape a marriage she believes Hawkeswell and her evil cousin plotted and coerced her into. I have to tell you, I do not like weak female characters. That being said, in addition to having an ugly name, she is a weak and annoying female. Gah... all she did was keep running. Run from her marriage. Run from her evil cousin. Run from admitting that its OK to enjoy making love to your husband. Run from doing any type of investigation work on her own. Run from her growing feelings for her husband. Run, Run, Run. And every time she spoke, I just wanted her to shut up. The ONLY reason I finished this book was for Hawkeswell. First off, his name is awesome. And his first name is Grayson. LOVVVVVE BOTH OF THEM! And he is funny. He's sexy. He's charming. And he's very masculine. These are all necessities for my main male characters. He suits me just fine. And when he finally professes his love for Verity (Gah! Even typing her name induces vomit.)he does so eloquently that my mouth fell open and I re-read his words over and over again. I think I have it memorized. Good God... they don't make men like that anymore. So, its just an OK book. I'm hoping that Ms. Hunter gets a better editor and a better plot for book #3. Oh wait... did #3 come out already? *shrug*
