Eireann Corrigan's Accomplice was an entertaining and suspenseful story. Corrigan's constructed an interesting plot especially with the Finn's point of view. In the story, two girls stage the disappearance of one, in this case, Finn's best friend Chloe. The entire community is distraught and in hysterics because they never expected such a thing to occur. Finn's gives Chloe updates on the community, who is hiding in Finn's grandmothers home and eventually they bring Chloe back because things are beginning to go wrong. By the end the book, Finn sets up an exclusive interview with the media focused on Chloe's case which I assume, she is going to tell the truth. I enjoyed her story very much because the storyline is interesting. Corrigan's approach to her story was different from anything I've ever read, in fact, it was unique. The idea was that one plan can become a serious consequence. Finn witnessed everything and though there wasn't many great results for her in the end, I'm actually glad she stood up for herself by the end by scheduling that interview. Corrigan's writing style is amusing, most author's make teenage protagonists sound really mature for their age which I tend to dislike. They have extreme and non-realistic or relatable goals but Corrigan's plot was based on two girls just trying to create a brilliant personal statement for their college application. The girls are clever and manipulative, Finn is more down-to-earth while Chloe is more lenient with them as friends it makes a perfect combination and a great plot. One thing I did dislike from her story though was Chloe's hiding spot, I thought it was too obvious but I do think the time she returned was just right because eventually someone would discover them. There also wasn't many suprises besides the end. You knew the enire backstory, what the girls intentions were and their reason for it as well. I like how you can somehow connect with these characters, for example, their stress to build a perfect essay because students are getting more competitive and it seems like we now have to go to the extremes. We have to convince the adminstrators and with little support from counselors, we feels this pressure to make ourselves stand out. I recommend this book to a young adult age group. The book is distinct from others because the protagonist is much more relatable than any other because of their enjoyable personalities. The plot is interesting and you really won't regret it. I got this book for free at my local library, and I found the back to look quite interesting. The general plot line was good, but not great, and that's about all I can think of that's positive. The characters to me lacked everything that made a character. They weren't believable. They were annoying. I couldn't stop reading though, I had to finish the story, even though I despised it. Luckily, it was a quick read.
