In many ways, this book was better than the second. The battles were exhilarating and the suspense well built. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because half of the time I wanted to kill Ellysetta and her very irritating bouts of self doubt and fears and the fact that she's clingy to an extreme. Truthfully, I could have dealt with less lovey-dovey-cliche moments between her and Rain and a bit more action. Nonetheless, she grows a pair somewhere around 80% and it gets better from that point onward. In general, two thumbs up and can't wait to finish this series! This book is one frustrating read but I know the neccessity of plot antagonists and obstacles. Whoever said this book series love Happily Ever Afters obviously been reading different books than I did. But still its a good book and the story direction make more sense as it is. Again loads of politics and loads of the things you readers know because of the multiple POVs plot and when the main characters drop into a situation you know it will end so badly you want to shake them. Sometimes I hate multiple third POVs including the antagonists... that always happen to me.
Beginning to draw out too much, but still an alright read if into the heavily fantasy side to it.
