About book Die Eroberung Der Lady Cassandra (2014)
Found this at the library. ..storyline was intriguing and initially I was drawn into the book and the bits where Cassandra felt wronged and misunderstood were poignant indeed. but the prose and plot moved really slowly in the first two thirds so I really had to plough through. I really hate the bits about Lakewood and I guess this book being number two of four, the Lakewood tale is a common thread through the quartet? I'm not too keen on Emma and Southwaite's story but the blurps on books three Marielle and Kendale and especially the last, Lydia and the enigmatic Penthurst, make me eager to read on. The first two-thirds of the book were very slow. I put it down several times to do housework instead of reading. I never do that! Perhaps I should have just put it on the DNF pile instead. The only reason I didn't was that several of my friends rated it high. The last 100 pages were decent, but not worth reading the first 200 to get there. I don't think I am interested in reading the rest of this series.
