Pilar was an absolute basketcase. Initially I thought she was borderline delusional, but after continuing to read the story and some of the things that she did to keep this man and some of the things that she allowed him to do to her proves that she is absolutely CRAZY!!!! Xavier on the other hand is a fool.... She showed all the signs of being someone that was unstable but because of her looks and because of great sex he chose to overlook everything and her ass made him pay dearly. This book is a page turner, it keeps you engaged and at times make you laugh out loud. I read this book so fast it seem like I was watching a movie. This is one of those books where after you read it and you're telling someone about it you're telling them as if it was a movie that you watched because the words are so vivid that they just jump out at you to make you think you're seeing it instead of reading it. Pilar loves hard and god help the person who stands in her way!!! No is not in her vocabulary. She wants Xavier and will stop at no end to have him!!!! She is a straight LUNATIC..... I have already started reading book 2 and I am just about finished with it also but I wanted to do a review of book 1. I am not certain how I came across this book but boy am I happy that I did......what a great read very entertaining and what's even more strange is that I could see this happening to someone in real life. Pilar begins to show up at all of his literary events, constantly emails him, and even relocates to his city. And, just when Xavier believes that he has gotten through to Pilar to leave him alone, she seems to vanish into the thin air. But, we all know the story can not end there.Parks has written a fresh spin and perspective on stalkers as we can find a way to justify Pilar’s behavior. This was a quick and very entertaining read (one of my personal favorites of 2012 so far). The sequel, The Stalker Chronicles, is much anticipated.
