Dune for kids?Interesting take on a YA Dystopian future - spoiled a bit by the lead character being annoying as hell - she's a heroine supposedly but needs carrying around A LOT and is constantly whinging about her life. Add to that the authors dismissal of why the Spice (sorry dust!) is breathable and gives powers and the inevitable sodding love triangle and the most generous mark I can give is 2/5 **** I received this book free for in return a honest review****This was the first book in the series, and it immediately left me wanting more! The story flowed smoothly throughout the entire novel. I was able to read it continuously without having to stop and put it down every few hours. As the plot grew, so did the details of Glory's life. This made me feel connected to Glory and the world she grew up in. I think what I loved most about the book was that the ending took me by surprise. Nothing is worst than reading a book and already knowing what will most likely happen. Overall, this is a quick read that instantly hooked me. I love getting lost in books and in a world that only exists because an author created it. I can't wait for the next two to come in the mail.
Rip roaring adventure. If you loved Hunger Games and Twilight, you will really love Deviants.
