What a charming book! I loved the locale (small town in Maine) and I loved the characters. I laughed so hard at some parts and teared up at others. There was a point in the middle I was afraid it was about to get bogged down but it quickly picked up. Overall a clean read. A little language at first and implied sex but behind closed doors and we never "saw" it, thankfully!! I look forward to more by this author! Why can't all mainstream books be like this? I really liked the book. and I was attracted to it by the cover. i had never heard of his book. I am Brazilian and Ive read in portuguese. at the beginning I hated Ellen. what a stuck-up nose! but i was being led into reading the rest of the book and really had a great time. i think it was not surprising for we could see it all coming, and there were some coincidences. But what really amzed me was the way the author writes. I could feel how she was feeling. and lets say its a gift. So i think the writer is great and maybe she can come with something less predictable in the next book. I hope there comes.a next one.
I wanted a silly beach read; this fit the bill.
