This was an enjoyable enough read. I was intrigued by the premise, and it mostly delivered. Captive stories that turn into something else are always of interest. I enjoyed the little conflict midway through. Men doing bad things out of jealousy can be very sexy, and I feel that it was done well in this case. He treated her so well afterwards too. The ending was a bit boring. Too much domesticity, etc. Nevertheless, I like the author's style. Too bad she doesn't have any other books available and seems to have fallen off the radar. Also, this title was quite pricey for what it was. THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE FOR EVERYONEWhen Earth is invaded and ravaged by an alien race of fierce warriors, Charity runs. For six days she evades death or capture. Melmanon the fiercest of the warrior tribe captures Charity, and decides to keep her as his torture slave.First read for me by this author. Overall I liked this story, though there are some issues I have with it. Melmanon is the warrior tribes commander, he's ruthless and deadly. He is not the handsome sexy alpha male of most romance books, his appearance alone is enough to strike terror into his enemies with his blood red skin and cruel eyes. He truly looks like a demon. His treatment early on towards Charity is hard and cruel. But he soon realises he enjoys greatly Charity's submissiveness. I didn't quite see her as submissive, she was so much weaker than he, and with no means to resist or fight back, she was more defeated than anything else IMO. Melmanon's 360 degree character turn around happened rather too quickly to be totally convincing. This book really needed to be longer to do the story justice. Though overall I did like it.The tone and sexual content of this may not be for those who are easily offended by scenes with dubious consent.
Do You like book Demon's Captive (2007)?
mostly read it for the steam but it not bad. still, the stars are mostly due for the sex.

Definably a different type of read. Good but trilling, hot yet steamy.
