In this volume, Kagura and Miko relationship is tested further here with the meeting of a past apprentice of Miko's father coming back into the picture. Miko is having more boy problems and questions Kagura's confession of love for her. is it real or just demonic lust? Kagura even wants to prove his worth to her in this volume against this new rival. I was a little ticked that the introduction of a cool, new demon called Miyuki (a male yuki-onna). Like the kitsune, Fox, he befriends Miko, but is lost in trying to connect more with humans. It feels like more could have been done in developing and keeping that character around, rather than to have him only for one story. I hope more character development occurs in the next volume. Miko is set to get married, and Kagura is jealous. But, how far will either of them go to avoid one another? Mix in a demon that brings snow in his wake, and a crazy onmyouji that was promised Miko's hand in marriage by her drunken father....and, you have a crazy adventure that anyone would love.----------------- My real interest in this volume came when we found out that Miko's father had promised her hand in marriage to an onmyouji named Yamabuki. Yamabuki is big on television. Miko's father made this promise in a letter that he wrote during a drunken stupor. He even misspelled "wife" as "wyfe". But, he intends to honor it..... That is until he truly realizes Miko's feelings for Kagura. At that moment, he returns Kagura to his normal self.--------- Another interesting point in this volume is the snow demon, Miyuki, who leaves snow everywhere he goes. He knows nothing of warmth, so he asks Miko about it. As he saves Miko from the burning house at the end, he remembers her words about warmth. It is the first--and last--time he ever experienced warmth, as he melted while saving her. Miko's father mistakenly believes that Kagura saved Miko's life, and starts sucking up to Kagura and agreeing with anything he says. He even agrees when Kagura asks if he can take a vacation with Miko, in order to have sex with her.---------------------- There's also a cute bonus story about a day in the life of Kagura in his shrunken "mini" size as well. It's cute, but there really isn't much to it.
