I liked this book. The characters weren't completely filled out, in that I had trouble believing Elyse is a genius doctor who's going to cure a disease but is severely lacking in common sense. I did like a lot of her emotional responses though, in regards to her being bullied and unable to take it quietly. But for a woman in her mid twenties who's been through medical school and has had some kind of relationship in the past, her level of immaturity/naivety didn't seem to fit.I enjoyed the plot and world this book is set in. However I'm upset that the book just ended abruptly with most questions left unanswered. I will definitely read any follow up, but this book came out in 2012 and there is no info anywhere on whether there are any plans to finish this story. :( I found a link to this book on the website of Anna Scarlett's fellow author Anna Banks (Of Poseidon, Of Triton). Although I'm not susre what I expected, but this heavy dose of romance was not it. I really felt this should not have been the final draft - a few more rewrites would have been beneficial to strengthen the plot. The concept of using a virus to fight another virus isn't exactly an epiphany moment. Despite my issues with the medical portion of the book I found myself rooting for the main character and her eventual husband, even though the ending felt rushed.
