From my experience of choosing books from second hand book stores, I didn't have high hopes for this book. The main reason why I chose it originally was the blurb, it was something different to what I have previously read. Well I picked up the book and started reading, it took a little while to get into it, but the main aspect that caught me by surprise were the flashbacks of Italy in WW2... something that I most definitely did not expect. Once this began I was hooked! This book was a great surprise read with two different plots (past and present) intertwined into one. The plots involved war, thrill, betrayal, murder, love, lust and revenge. The last 100 pages were so thrilling and jaw dropping to the last word. Now I'm curious if all of Charlotte Lambs' books are as good as this one...
