This book has quite a lot of good ideas, and the writing is ok. So why only one star ? Because, if the writing is "ok", the book reaks of commercial urban fantasy writing. The plot has a chronical spiderman type to it (with great power come great responsabilities... etc..). The hero kill demons with bronze bullets (seriously ?). A virus kills instantly 2000 people (seriously squared ? what about a spell/sacrifice). A character named "Aunt Mab" (reeking of Faery, somewhere i'm sure). There is originality in this book... Yes yes there is 10% original illogical ideas sunken in 90% stupid commercial cloning of successful urban fantasy. I'm rarely this mean about a book. I don't want to be mean about this book, i'm sure the author put effort into it. But i can't help myself.Try it, but if you're a habitual urban fantasy reader, i'm not sure you'll like it. Loved this book. It kept my attention (something that can be hard for a lot of books), and I found myself reading it at every possible chance that I had. I loved all the twists and turns that the story took, and the great and unique take that it had on its mythology. Highly recommended to urban fantasy fans. The sequel looks just as awesome. I'm definitely going to read the secod one as soon as I finish my current library book.
