About book De Yogaclub (2011)

'Tales from the yoga studio' is a typical example of chick lit. The story tells about different people who have something a common, which is the yoga studio of Lee. Lee has her own yoga studio and teaches yoga to everyone who wants to learn it. Lee has two children together with Alan, but their relationship isn't going very well. Alan has decided to live a few weeks somewhere else, with a friend to work on his music, but Lee knows it doesn't go that well between them both. When she gets an offer to give yoga classes somewhere else, she thinks this is the only way to save their relationship. But that big yoga studio is everything she doesn't want. What will Lee chose? Her own yoga studio or a big yoga chain of studios? The story doesn't only tells about Lee, but also about her friends who do yoga in her studio. First there is her best friend, Katherine. Katherine also works in the yoga studio, but not as a teacher, but as a masseuse. She really loves her job, but when Lee has to chose, she has to come up with an other job. There is also Graciela, a dancer, who has to recover and for that reason she starts following yoga classes with Lee. Then there is Imani, who is an actrice, who has had a miscarriage. At last, there is Stephanie, who works for a film company and who has a very busy life. Their stories come together in the yoga classes of Lee and treat about love and friendship and how they support each other. I liked the story, because I, myself, do yoga and I really liked the fact that people with the same hobby can become such a good friends. It wasn't a really dark story, it was more a funny, relaxing story which read very fast. I think I did a week in reading the whole story. The story is also well written, because every time I stopped reading, I wanted to continue reading. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. As a story of the chick lit genre, I would recommend the book to others and it certainly deserves his four stars. I really enjoyed this book, the content is something totally different you would never normally come across a fictional book about yoga but it tells a good story! The characters are all totally different yet they clash in all the right ways which made is a great read, its not only about the exercise but also about making friends and becoming a close group doing things you enjoy and learning how to relax and change your world around. It was a happy read, nothing to dramatic or traumatic, the ending was slightly abrupt but it has to end somewhere doesn't it!I would recommend this as an easy read.
