About book Day Of The Dragon King (2008)

I like this book because it talks about what happened in the past. I also like this book because it is about china, and china almost makes all the cool stuff we Americans use today. I know that this book talks about what happened in the past because in the book it states, The Dragon King forced many of his subjects to start building a wall to protect China from invaders. Later emperors made the wall even longer. Finally, it stretched 3,700 miles along the border. The Great Wall of China is the longest structure ever built.pg(25) Who would like this book is one of my friends from another school. I know that he would like this book because he likes to read about China and Dragons. Another reason I know he would like this book because he likes to learn about things that has happened in the past, and old stuff. One challenging aspect I have for this book is that the setting changes and it is unclear in the book. It is a challenging aspect for me because then when I am reading this book I get confused where are the characters in the book when they talking or starting a scene. Another challenging aspect I have for this book is that the point of view changes in the story. It is challenging aspect because I get confused who is telling the story.A character that I can describe in this book is The Dragon King. The Dragon King is a deity in Chinese mythology. He has the ability to shapeshift into human form and lives in an underwater crystal palace. He has his own royal court and commands an army comprising various marine creatures. Apart from presiding over aquatic life, the Dragon King can also manipulate the weather and bring rainfall. The Dragon King often appears in classical Chinese literature. Detailed descriptions are given of the grandeur of their palaces. They are believed to be the rulers of moving bodies of water, such as waterfalls, rivers, or seas. They can show themselves as water spouts (tornado or twister over water). In this capacity as the rulers of water and weather, the dragon is more anthropomorphic in form, often depicted as a humanoid, dressed in a king's costume, but with a dragon head wearing a king's headdress.pg(1 and 2)

Day of the Dragon King Review I read this book really enjoy and I have this book to series. I like this book and this story is very interesting to me, also my partner Preaw feel interested. When I got this book, I think it looks like easy because It was in elementary school library.( ES library ) But, it was not too easy, not too difficult, just right. I will introduce this book now. the Mary Pope Osborne written this book and she written another series of this book. And the story is like that, the main character Jack and Annie found magic tree house and they enter to the tree house, they found many books in the house. To tell the truth, I don’t know more story because I didn’t read book 1 to book 13. Now this book is book 14. I know what happening in this book, but I don’t know previous story well. Somehow, they can travel all of the countries, but their mother doesn’t know. She just know they are just playing. When they arrived to the magic tree house, and then they can travel all of the countries because their are have entrance to China. my short review is just done, I’m not sure about my review. And thank you for reading my review.

Do You like book Day Of The Dragon King (2008)?

Twice a year at my daughter's school, the kids get to pick out a book to keep from the Reading Is Fundamental(RIF)/PTA program. We have recently started the Magic Tree House chapter books at our house, so she was familiar with them. She's also currently wild about all things from China. She picked this "Day of the Dragon King" book as her book to keep and was so excited to bring it home. We read it and enjoyed reading about the underground army of terra cotta warriors, among other things. Great kid (and parent-)friendly series for getting an exposure to other time periods/history. Stories are told primarily through easy-on-beginners character dialogue, with some narration. (Lots and lots of ...."said Annie" and ....."exclaimed Jack.") For now, I read them to her, but soon I'm sure she'll be reading them on her own.

This book sent us off on a search to find out how paper and silk were made. A good way to bring science into history. My generic review for the Magic Tree House books - We've loved them all so far. They are fun, easy to read and contain quite a bit of historical information. We use them as read-alouds, but most elementary/middle school kids could read them on their own.It does have a touch of 'girl power' at the expense of making the brother seem a little dumb. That kinda bugs. But it's not obvious and my boys haven't noticed. They think Jack is just as cool as his sister.

My daughter's teacher gave this to her for her kindergarten graduation and has thus set us off to devour another series. It is written for young readers and is wonderfully "clean" and innocent. Every chapter seemed to end with a cliff hanger so that I was constantly begged to read just one more chapter. I also liked that it was written about the enjoyment reading can bring us. There is also a touch of history thrown in - China in this case! My daughter woke me up at 7:30 this morning so that I could read her the last two chapters (she wanted me to keep reading last night but I told her it was time for bed). We will be getting more of these books to read!
