About book Day At The Office, A (2013)

I liked this, especially with the ending which had a twist on the typical HEA.All of the characters work for the same Internet firm in London and all have issues on one day - Valentine's Day.Calum is meeting a date for the first time... and it's a woman he's grown to like over time via the Internet, but he has no idea what she looks like and he's afraid that she'll back out of the date.Nathan was burned three years ago on V-Day by proposing to his girlfriend only to have her reject him and tell him that she's been cheating on him. So he's anti-Valentine's Day.Sophie's got a crush on Nathan and wants to make her move today.Mark and Julie shared a spark-inducing kiss at the Christmas party, but Julie's got a secret that Mark doesn't know about and he's been pining for her since Christmas and he plans to make his move today. The author does a great job of setting the reader into this day at the office. I found it a bit overwritten in spots, but still fun to read. The humor was good and I liked the HEA. This book takes place on Valentine's day. It is the story of office romances and typical romantic comedy misunderstandings and some predictability. It is not a laugh out loud book but was an enjoyable read. The primary problem with this book is the constant 'telling' rather than 'showing'. Matt Dunn continually tells us what the character's are thinking rather than showing it. This story might have benefited from more conversation and less introspection.Nevertheless it is worth a read. The way the various plots are weaved together is effective and there are some nice turns of phrase.

Do You like book Day At The Office, A (2013)?

Incredibly boring and predictable. Expected from a book that I got free with a Kitkat I suppose.

Easy read. Comic in places. Not the best chick-lit I've ever read but it was still enjoyable
