My wife and I read through this together. I bought this for our daughters as an Easter present, but I couldn't help read it since I'm a Star Wars nerd.I enjoyed it as a parent though, because I think it brings reality of parenting into the picture, and Jeffrey Brown has illustrated that in this book. I can understand it to point, I guess. I mean, I've been a father for almost 2 and a half years, so I still have some time in how to be a parent here. I'm talking about these books by Jeffrey Brown.The books have brightly colored pictures that are easily appealing to kids. Funny things happen, like Luke hitting Lobot in the head with pasta sauce at dinner, which are also appealing to kids. However, it takes a certain knowledge of Star Wars and of being a parent for these books to really hit home.I love Darth Vader and Son. It captures a moment when Luke is probably around six or so and is a great picture of what it's like to be a dad. As in the scene with the pasta sauce: Vader's hand is to his forehead in that great "I can't believe he just did that" pose. It takes a classic situation and puts a great Star Wars spin on it. The whole book is like that.Vader's little princess is good, too, but it doesn't quite live up to Vader and Son. Mostly, it's because he used all the great kid moments in the one about Luke. Because of that, the one with Leia is less focused and strays up into teenagerdom and young adulthood. I have to say, though, that some of the dating stuff with Han is pretty funny.The books are a lot of fun if you're Star Wars fan and worth having around as conversation pieces, if nothing else. But, if you're not going to buy them, you should at least make a special trip to the bookstore to check them out. They don't take long to read, and it's totally worth it.
Do You like book Darth Vader Y Su Princesita (2013)?
I enjoyed this edition of how to parenthood Darth Vader style more than the original (Darth Vader and Son) for many reasons, the first being that the I felt there was actually character development in this book as we see Princess Leia as a small child all the way up to adulthood – a progression I quite enjoyed. I also like that Brown included both kids (aka Luke and Leia) in this book, as we know they are twins and thus both should be there. Don’t worry though the book is still focused on Leia.A lot of people have complained that this book is more stereotypical than the last in the series, but I disagree completely here. In fact out of the two I found the first one to be more stereotypical than this one. What we see in this book is a sole father struggling to raise his daughter. It’s just as humours as the first book and still as quirky as ever. One of my favourite ‘scenes’ is where Princess Lei and her boyfriend and Darth Vader are sitting down to dinner and Leia tells her boyfriend to ”Behave yourself, or my Dad will totally kill you.”A great book to add to any Star Wars Fanatic/fan’s bookshelves and for fathers with daughters, as I think they’d relate to a lot of the concepts presented in this one.

Not really a graphic novel- a series of mostly single panel (or three panel) jokes depicting scenes between Darth Vader, lord of the dark side and his daughter Leia (with cameos by Luke, Han, Obi Wan, R2, etc.) Good for several chuckles, but certainly funnier if you've seen the movies and know the character's back stories. Scary to hear myself sounding like Darth Vader as a parent, "Did you brush your back teeth?!?"
